It has been emphasized that peculiarities of the diarists’ individual styles are determined by extralingual factors, in particular the diasporian worldview. The song often verbalizes their genetic memory, acts as a specific aesthetic category, a source of life and basis of national consciousness.
In the article the functioning of the image song in different trope structures has been traced. Its epithetization and metaphorization indicate the immersion of the diarists in the aesthetic essence of the national literature (both – the folk and the authorsʼ). Through the song, the authorsʼ feelings and moods related to the perception of the ethnic Motherland are most naturally conveyed. Their evaluation is clearly polarized into positive and negative. The traditional positive evaluation of the song is accentuated by its compatibility with the meanings native, beautiful, wonderful, etc. To emphasize its negative evaluation the authors often transcriptional reproduction of song lines according to the Russian phonetic prototype, reproduction of non-normative pronunciation, etc.
Diaspora diarists often interpret the national song as a source of information about Ukraine, its customs and traditions. It is associated with artistic and emotional memory of the people, a unifying and spiritually strengthening force.
The Ukrainian song, as a means of self-expression, finds confirmation in the use of song lines in diaristsʼ everyday speech, as they often think and speak using the song images.
Therefore, the image of a song in diaspora diary texts is conceptualized as an emotional-and-expressive code, a linguistic-and-aesthetic sign of national culture, a defining component of the authorsʼ worldview.
Key words: diaspora, diary text, lingual-and-aesthetic feature of the national culture, semantic-and-axiological paradigm, diaspora worldview.

REFERENCES
Denysenko, Yu.M.
