The source for the research was educational and methodological materials posted on the popular educational platforms “Vseosvita” and “Na urok”.
The professional discourse of modern educators is characterized by new foreign words, primarily English borrowings. On the one hand, this spontaneous process confirms the important role the English language plays in international communication, while on the other hand, it evokes serious concerns among linguists, as it reduces the usage of the Ukrainian models and word formation means and the search for new ones. Total prevalence of English borrowings prevents our language from following its own Ukrainian word-formation patterns.
Among the frequently used new words in the speech of teachers the attention is drawn by the word гейміфікація. It is obvious that this derivative is formed from the English word game. In methodological literature it is used to denote the process of using games in the educational process. Development of information technologies encourages exploration of the new effective means of educational activity or rethinking and modernization of existing ones. One of these tools, which is increasingly used in scientific and pedagogical circles, is gamification, which is based on the use of computer games in the learning process.
It has been proved that the English borrowing гейміфікація should be replaced by the Ukrainian equivalent, even if it is a compound term, namely: дидактичні ігри, ігрова діяльність (didactic games, game activity). It is obvious that at the beginning of the 21st century computerization of the educational process and intensive development of information technologies resulted in the new types of didactic games, which are based on computer games. But these are also games that perform important didactic functions in the educational process. The word гейміфікація is an element of youth slang and professional jargon of computer professionals. However, teachers should not pollute their professional speech with these words.
Key words: English borrowing, anglosurzhyk (a mix of Ukrainian and English languages), professionalism, didactic games.

REFERENCES
Antonov, Ye.V.
