Each of the textbooks for grades 5–6 contains the works of Lesіa Ukrainka, among which there is “Evening Hour”, “Lullaby”, “Lily”, “Already the Spring Sun is Burning” (a fragment from “Forest Song”), “About the Giant”.
Information about the poetess’ biography is presented in the textbooks by Kalynych – Diachok and Chumarna – Pastushenko. The style of the two texts is similar and contains well-known biographical facts. Though the Kalynych – Diachok textbook provides more extensive information, the text contains some inaccuracies, particularly regarding occasional names: “Mysholosiye” – instead of the legitimate “Misholosie” (the joint name of Mykhailo and Larysa Kosach, “lysynchata” – instead of “lyseniata” (regarding Mykola Lysenko’s children). The claim that Lesia Ukrainka knew 7 languages is also questionable (in fact, she knew more).
The stylistically pronounced prefaces in the textbooks by Kovalenko – Bernadska and Chumarna – Pastushenko are worth emphasizing, as well as interesting rubrics that encourage schoolchildren to work with the word thoughtfully.
Each text by Lesia Ukrainka is accompanied by a variety of tasks that involve both the literary and linguistic analysis of the text.
The article analyzes the features of the “question” block to works by Lesia Ukrainka and the proposed system of tasks, some of which focus on working with linguistic and expressive means, particularly, epithets.
The above comments suggest more active use of available popular science sources about Lesia Ukrainka in the educational process, particularly, modern literary texts, and audio-video products, which will contribute to developing an interest in studying both the biography and creative heritage of Lesia Ukrainka.
Key words: Lesіa Ukrainka, stylistics, textbook language, NUSh.

REFERENCES
Kalynych, O., Diachok, S.
