Holophrastic constructions are the result of an unusual method of word formation called holophrasis, which consists in transforming a syntactic unit into a lexical one.
In semantic terms, GC with transparent semantics are particularly noteworthy. The purpose of creating such units is the need to designate a complex object that is integral in the author’s worldview, several objects as a single entity.
Despite the clarity of such units, there is almost always a nuance in meaning, in its connotative component, or in the cultural background of the creation of a holophrastic construction. If the prepositions of the author and the reader coincide, the image becomes more expressive.
Direct or indirect references to well-known texts are contained in units with opaque semantics, whose meaning is not determined by the meaning of their elements. They contain coded references to well-known foreign and Ukrainian texts. These are allusive and quotational holophrastic constructions.
The “building blocks” of Oksana Zabuzhko’s holophrastic constructions are often idioms, linguistic clichés, and collocations.
Formally, the writer’s holophrastic constructions consist of varying numbers of components, ranging from two to nine.
Key words: Oksana Zabuzhko’s language, lexis, semantics, holophrasis, holophrastic construction.

REFERENCES
Abramova, K.S. & Punina, O.V.
