Abstract<\/strong>
\nThe article analyzes the lexicographical practice of representing contemporary Ukrainian slang in printed and online dictionaries. A comparative analysis of methodological approaches, the volume of lexical material, temporal coverage, and the structure of dictionary entries was conducted. The study demonstrates the importance of contextually illustrating the usage features of slang, indicating their grammatical, stylistic, and pragmatic characteristics, as well as reflecting systemic relations such as synonymic series, antonymic pairs, and word-formation chains. The work outlines current issues in slang lexicography: lagging behind in recording new neologisms and digital innovations, non-standardized dictionary entries, selective inclusion of regional and social variants, and limited possibilities for tracking rapidly changing Internet vocabulary. Using the printed dictionaries of Pyrkala, Stavytska, Kondratiuk, Tseatsura, Nesterovych, and online platforms such as Myslovo, Slang.Zone.net, and slovaronline.com, the advantages and disadvantages of each format are analyzed: academic publications provide systematization and scholarly reliability but do not always reflect rapid changes in language, whereas digital resources allow quick recording of innovations but require careful moderation and quality control. The effectiveness of a hybrid dictionary model, combining online and printed versions, is justified as an optimal way to document dynamic slang vocabulary. The significance of slang dictionaries for studying sociolects, word-formation productivity, functional and stylistic variability, semantic change dynamics, and mechanisms of socio-cultural identification is highlighted. It is shown that the combined use of printed and digital resources ensures deeper scientific analysis and contributes to the formation of a representative corpus of contemporary Ukrainian slang.
