Abstract
The article deals with the problem of childrenʼs and adolescent speech development. The research material was dictaphone recordings of oral spontaneous speech, correspondence on the “Telegram”, and written down fragments of the oral speech of the girl A. from the village of V. in the Lviv region. Considering social factors, the study examines changes in a Ukrainian-speaking child’s speech with age. The focus is on the emotions and expressiveness present in the speech of children and adolescents. The research shows how actively children form new words and adapt their vocabulary to non-standard contexts.
The article highlights the spontaneous children’s acquisition of English and Russian in a monolingual Ukrainian environment. The study concludes that family, school, the Internet, and books are the crucial factors in a childʼs speech and language behavior formation. It is possible to influence adults’ future the speech and language behavior by regulating some of these areas in childhood.
Key words: childrenʼs speech, language behavior, bilingualism, slang, dialectics.
