Language: Ukrainian

Abstract
The article analyzes the syntactic status and structure of authorʼs notes, peculiar insertions-remarks in the texts of Olha Kobylianskaʼs prose works. The main groups of remarks that characterize the speech of the characters, explain their non-verbal behavior, describe the feelings, thoughts, experiences of the characters and the narrator are highlighted. Certain stylistic features of replicas in the writer’s prose texts, which represent O. Kobylianska’s creative individuality, have been revealed.
The use of remarks in O. Kobylianska’s prose texts is not accidental. The possibilities of remark constructions satisfy the author’s need to “intervene” in the immediate narrative with additional messages or favorable comments. Therefore, they are an important element of the authorʼs style. It is in the remarkable construction that the author acts as the subject of speech, whose consciousness forms not only his own thoughts and views, but also encompasses the world of the hero of the work of art. In this way, the remark acts as a kind of mediator in the communicative act between the hero (the subject of speech, the addressee) and the reader (the subject of perception, the addressee).
Introductory and accompanying remarks in O. Kobylianskaʼs prose works are valuable material for linguistic observations, they make it possible to generalize information about the original manner of storytelling of the writer. In the introductory remarks, the author names the place and time of the action, introduces the acting characters, gives their characteristics, indicates what they are busy with at the initial moment of the action. Accompanying remarks penetrate the dialogues or accompany the lines of the heroes, contribute to the promotion of the development of actions.
Key words: literary text, image of the author, introductory remarks, accompanying remarks, insert remarks.
